We are on our way! Getting tired of waiting? So are we! As many of you know and for those that do not, there are a myriad of steps one must take to get your speakeasy off the ground. As of this moment, we are waiting for the City of Tacoma Permits to conclude review of the plumbing packet (changes in plumbing to sustain a kitchen and bar). Once that happens, the plumbing contractor goes in and makes all adjustments needed! Shortly after, contractor demo!
For those that I have met out on the street and the locations I have visited to pass out cards, thank you so much for your support. Each and every one of you are so excited to see an authentic speakeasy experience to come about. And with that being said, comes the water pressure to make sure that I provide what it is that I have telling ya’ll is to come.
The menu is in process, I have already received all the televisions I will have in the location. Just need to clean up a few details. I will blog weekly. I will post photos as well of our progress. So please stick around!

It has begun! Today I was able to place the banners onto the plywood. Please excuse the orientation of the information on it. But, since I already had these made and really didn’t want to mess around with the timing of things, I just went ahead and hung them. Now, again, as in the previous post, we are only waiting for permits. then everything will move full steam ahead! So if you get a chance, go by 1111 Tacoma Ave South, Tacoma, 98409, and take a look.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
I hope everyone’s entrance into the new year was as fun and safe as it was for us! We danced 80’s all night long! This passed week we met with the restaurant appliance team that will be furnishing and installing all the kitchen appliances and grill to include the beer fridge and kegerator and such for the bar. I am having the bar top created from scratch! So, the permits are moving along, I meet with management Monday. I will update you then.
PARANORMAL!! TAROT READERS!! I, am a paranormal enthusiast! Blackbox and spirit box sessions, shadow tracking! All of it! Additionally, I do read tarot cards. Now, I am not trying to scare or run anyone off, but, I will in the least be having local tarot readers, including myself, to give readings on certain days at the lounge!! Possibly include paranormal services. What do you think?
I wanted to just let everyone know, this lounge will try to be as true to a 20’s and 30’s prohibition impression, this includes music. We will primarily be hosting live jazz or 20’s 30’s era music on a weekly basis. We will have karaoke weekly. We are so looking forward to hosting days such as St. Patrick’s and Halloween and such! We are going to have so much fun!
FOOD!!! The menu is in the works. Again, this will be true authentic Mexican food. The menu will include traditional plates such as enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, taquitos, Mexican soups and deserts. We do have to declare, the salsas are homemade and hot. So let this be a disclaimer, we don’t do mild.

Ricky’s Lounge is established in the name of a recently deceased loved one. You guessed it, he went by Ricky. He was a hard working businessman within his community in mind. He left behind and provided the means and ways to open this venture. We are dedicated to a purpose of providing an experience to make you feel like family. And with him looking over us, our business and event ethic, we hope to expand to share his name as far as we can go.
